
Santa Rosa , CA – Redwood Credit Union (RCU) recently re-elected three volunteer Officials to their Board of Directors for the 2009-2012 term. They are incumbents Greg McGuirk, Jim Olmsted and Kathy Sowers. The Credit Union’s Board has also selected their officers for the year as follows: Robert Steele as Chair; Jim Olmsted as Vice Chair, Debra Watts as Secretary; and Bob Wieck as Treasurer. RCU’s volunteer Board of Directors sets the strategic direction and policies for the Credit Union.
Greg McGuirk has been on the Redwood Credit Union Board of Directors since 1987 after serving on the Supervisory Committee for seven years. Mr. McGuirk currently holds the position of Audit Manager in the Auditor/Controller’s office for the County of Sonoma. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from Sonoma State University. Mr. McGuirk also serves on the Board of Directors for the Credit Union’s wholly-owned subsidiary, RCU Services Group.

Jim Olmsted has been an RCU Official since 1993 and has served on the Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee, as well as the Board of Directors for RCU Services Group. He is the principal of Olmsted & Associates, a land use planning consulting firm. Mr. Olmsted holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science/Urban Geography from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Kathy Sowers has been a volunteer for Redwood Credit Union since 1979, serving first on the Supervisory Committee and then as a Director. Ms. Sowers received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from Sonoma State University and retired in 2006 after 35 years of service with the County of Sonoma. Ms. Sowers currently volunteers for a lifelong learning program and participates in fundraising for many local organizations.
