Redwood Credit Union Shows Their Green in Petaluma
RCU a Natural Fit for Green-Themed Butter & Egg Days Parade
Santa Rosa , CA – Thirteen Redwood Credit Union (RCU) volunteers and their families recently participated in the 28th Annual Butter & Egg Days Parade in Petaluma. The parade’s theme – “Recycle, Re-Use & Remember!” – allowed RCU to show their commitment to sustainability with their eco-conscious, earth-friendly parade entry, which included a hybrid vehicle provided by RCU Auto Services, and RCU volunteers handing out recycled shopping totes to spectators.

“Redwood Credit Union takes pride in celebrating the spirit of Petaluma and its rich farm history each year at the annual Butter & Egg Days Parade,” said Thomas Gibson, RCU’s Petaluma Branch Manager. “This year, we were pleased to feature the additional element of partnering with the community for sustainability, in keeping with this year’s green theme, by showcasing a hybrid vehicle from our Auto Center, and earth-friendly giveaways.”
RCU has been recognized for their sustainability efforts by the City of Santa Rosa, the Sonoma County Business Environmental Association and the California Credit Union League. The Credit Union’s Administrative Offices are LEED-certified, all RCU locations have recycling programs, and there is a Green Center on RCU’s website (www.redwoodcu.org/green) which features information on the credit union’s environmental efforts, as well as tips on how consumers can be more earth-friendly.
