Santa Rosa, CA – Redwood Credit Union (RCU) recently sponsored the American Heart Association (AHA) Go Red Luncheon and fashion show in Santa Rosa. Adorned in red, Credit Union employees attended the event to demonstrate their support for heart disease prevention and research. RCU President & CEO Brett Martinez also walked the runway in the “Prominent Men of the North Bay” category of the event’s fashion show.
“Redwood Credit Union is committed to supporting the health of our communities by partnering with many non-profits, including the American Heart Association, to help increase awareness, in addition to volunteering and raising funds toward research and prevention,” said Martinez. “Heart disease can affect anyone, but there are a number of simple steps people can take – such as exercising regularly – to reduce the risk.”

Earlier this year RCU employees participated in the AHA National Wear Red Day, raising more than $500 in a single day for the cause. Martinez is also a co-chair of the local AHA Heart Walk event in the fall, for which the Credit Union has set a $10,000 fundraising goal.
RCU actively supports and participates in a variety of community programs throughout the year, including the Sonoma, Marin & Mendocino County Human Races, the American Red Cross, the Sonoma County Volunteer Center, Salvation Army, and United Way.
