Position Summary:

Provide vision and leadership to branch personnel. Manage, plan, coordinate and administer the day-to-day operations of a small, medium or large branch office. Develop lines of business and ensure quality Member service at all times.

Essential Functions

Sales & Service 35%

  • Provide excellent service to all Members, volunteers, internal employees, and service providers.
  • Cross-sell RCU and RCUSG products and services.
  • Formulate and negotiate goals with branch staff.
  • Achieve branch goals and objectives as assigned.
  • Maintain an effective sales and service culture in branch by coaching branch staff.
  • Recognize and reward staff for achievements in sales and service goals.
  • Increase branch loans, shares, and Members through community involvement and business development efforts.
  • Conduct regular sales and coaching meetings.
  • Research Member problems and respond verbally and/or in writing.
  • Schedule staff to ensure superior Member service and branch needs are met.

Branch Administration 30%

  • Ensure ongoing staff training and development.
  • Plan, coordinate, communicate, and execute regular staff meetings.
  • Ensure communication in branch.
  • Collect and analyze weekly/monthly reports to evaluate strength and weaknesses of branch to improve performance.
  • Recruit, select, and hire qualified employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend merit increases for branch staff.
  • Coach, mentor, discipline, motivate and develop branch staff.
  • Attend and participate in internal meetings and disseminate information to staff.
  • Attend internal and external management meetings and represent the Credit Union at external functions and activities.

Branch Operations 25%

  • Review and identify cost effective and efficient utilization of Branch resources.
  • Ensure acceptable branch audit by ensuring compliance with established policy and procedures.
  • Safeguard Member information and ensure confidentiality by following established policy and procedures.
  • Perform teller transactions when needed and reconcile cash nightly.
  • Open new accounts, process loan applications, approve loan applications, and fund loans, as needed.

Non-Essential Functions 10%

  • Recommend and implement policies and procedures.
  • Draft correspondence for Member related inquiries.
  • Participate in Credit Union committees.
  • Perform special projects, research, and analysis as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • 1 Assistant Branch Manager
  • 1 6 Senior Member Service Representatives I and II
  • 1 6 Member Service Representatives

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of modern sales management principles, practices, and techniques.

  • Knowledge of business development methods and practices and program development.

Overdraft Protection Advantage Specialist

Position Summary:

Provide Member service while monitoring the risks associated the Overdraft Protection Advantage program, including the collection of overdrafts and negative balance accounts. Performs a wide variety of semi-routine job functions of moderate complexity and assists all staff and Members with questions, problems, and/or procedures of the program.

Essential Functions

Program Facilitation:  60%

  • Update and maintain account files, including eligibility status and account activity on program participants. 
  • Produce all correspondence and make necessary phone contacts relating to the Overdraft Protection Advantage Program accounts.
  • Produce entries to write-off balance and refers to manager for approval.
  • Cross-sell credit union products and services to assists with member needs.
  • Contact Members in overdraft status by phone according to defined strategy guidelines.
  • Facilitate the Overdraft Protection Advantage re-payment process with the member, designated branch Personnel, and Financial Assistance Department.
  • Provide information to Financial Assistance or collection agency for Members who have elected not to participate in a repayment process.
  • Notify authorized credit union personnel of accounts at risk to be closed, completes forms, and closes accounts.
  • Report delinquent accounts to credit agencies when necessary.
  • Report closed accounts to Chex Systems.
  • Provides exceptional service to all Members, volunteers, internal employees, and service providers.
  • Digitally scan sharedraft items for long-term retention.

Administration 30%

  • Prepare reports on overdraft  and other related reports as required by management.
  • Research Members’ problems and complaints and respond with accurate information to Members’ questions through verbal and/or written communication skills or by directing them to the appropriate person or department for assistance.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to disseminate pertinent information and discuss procedures, policies and/or problems.

Non-Essential Functions 10%

  • Complete special projects as needed.
  • Cross train in all areas of Automated Services to assist during vacation and illness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of terminology used in financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic, mathematical computations and, calculation of dividends.
  • Knowledge of collection techniques such as skip tracing.
  • Skill in the operation of standard and specialized office machines including 10-key by touch and to type 40 words per minute.
  • Strong Member service, negotiation, and sales skills.
  • Skill in operating a PC and use of word processing, spreadsheet, and browser software.
  • Ability and proficiency with the Internet.
  • Basic clerical skills such as filing, Xeroxing, and creating letters for members.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to understand Member issues and resolve them.

Consumer Lending Manager

Position Summary:

Organizes, leads, and controls the consumer lending activities and staff. Works with the Assistant Managers, or the lead personnel in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective daily operations of the credit union, as well as leads in recommending future development of programs/procedures to assure that loan growth and quality objectives are met.

Essential Functions

Department Management 40%

  • Schedule staff and assign work to ensure superior service and work plans are met.
  • Conduct regular staff and coaching meetings.
  • Establish goals and work plans consistent with Credit Union objectives and monitor results.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, evaluate and develop staff.
  • Recognize problems and issues; analyze root causes; evaluate and consider alternatives; develop and implement goals, strategies and tactics; and make appropriate decisions.
  • Establish and coordinate team efforts and build consensus, thus creating a cooperative working environment in which everyone has the opportunity to be successful.
  • Develop, maintain, and track an effective call center environment.
  • Review and identify cost effective and efficient utilization of Redwood Credit Union resources.
  • Recommend methods and procedures to improve department efficiencies.

Program Management

  • Ensure compliance with pertinent government rules and regulations.
  • Periodically analyze automated underwriting criteria and make recommendations to adjust various matrices and attributes as deemed necessary.
  • Manage and update the content of the Consumer and CUDL Loan Manual.
  • Provide exceptional Member service to all external and internal customers.
  • Develop and maintain an effective sales and service culture within the Consumer Lending department for direct and indirect lending platforms.
  • Communicate to facilitate a smooth flow of information between Consumer Lending and branch operations, mortgage lending, marketing and Member service center.

Controlling

  • Monitor and review results compared to the Consumer Lending budget.
  • Review, approve, counter or decline consumer loans within RCU standards.
  • Conduct quarterly portfolio review and make credit decisions based on current revolving lines of credit.
  • Evaluate the lending environment for all consumer loan products, and provide findings to ALCO representative so that rate and program decisions can be made.
  • Prepare Monthly Status Reports designed to keep the AVP of Lending and Senior Leadership Team up to date.
  • Conduct monthly loan review to ensure loans are approved, denied, countered and funded in compliance with established policies and procedures.

Non-Essential Functions

  • Perform special projects, research and analysis as required

  • Research and resolve Member, Official and employee concerns as required

  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of financial institution consumer lending methods, practices and services, economics and credit dynamics, as well as laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Exceptional management skills.
  • Skill in the operation of a personal computer and word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
  • Ability to analyze problems and opportunities, identify and evaluate alternatives, and develop sound, effective approaches.
