We are looking for an Senior Accountant, To Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the department in coordination with the AVP/Controller, while performing complex accounting duties and maintaining integrity and strong internal control.

As the Senior Accountant you will:

  • Ensure the Department complies with applicable regulations and laws by using RCU resources to increase your knowledge in relevant areas.
  • Maintain high integrity and strong internal control by acting in accordance with RCU policies, visions, service standards and mission statement.
  • Provide leadership necessary to maintain department operations in absence of the AVP/Controller.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recordings of expenses, income, assets and liabilities by reviewing and monitoring internal controls.
  • Manage the Loan and Share Accounting Process, Accounts Payable, Funds Transfer process and the Payroll process.
  • Perform month end close processes, including basic financial statement support and preparation.
  • Prepare regulatory reports and/or schedules (i.e. IRS tax reporting, Sales Tax, Property Taxes, Call Report, etc.)
  • Responsible for Investment Accounting entries and schedules.
  • Performs the Daily GL Review to ensure proper controls and accounting are taking place.
  • Responsible for Official Check Management.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of general accounting practices and principles.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • Advanced knowledge in Budget development, forecasting and variance analysis.

We are looking for a Card Services Representative, to pprovide quality service to Members and staff in relation to Visa Credit Card and Debit Card transactions. Processing applications for Visa Credit Card and Visa Debit cards. Resolving issues in relation to transactions and applications.

The Card Services Representative is responsible for:

  • Process, track and record Visa balance transfer requests
  • Process Visa address change requests as needed
  • Prepare Letters, audit and image Visa Auto Pay sign up, cancel and change requests
  • Post internal Visa payments as needed
  • Process Visa account statements needing to be discontinued
  • Balance and Reconcile Visa Cash Advance GL
  • Locate Visa GL outages
  • Process returned Visa Debit Cards
  • Monitor Large Deposit, Card Confirmed Fraud and Hot Card Reports

Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for a Financial Assistance Officer II Who will be responsible for preserving the assets and financial stability of RCU by mitigating real estate loan portfolios and consumer loan losses by resolving delinquency issues, handling related recovery and collections activities, and minimizing loss severity while operating within defined collections policies and procedures.

As a Financial Assistance Officer II you will:

  • Maintain full responsibility for the review and work of delinquent accounts over 60 days past due to determine appropriate collection actions.
  • Proactively solicit delinquent customers, either through calls or letters, in an effort to determine the collect ability and/or cash flow potential of the customer.
  • Negotiate high risk, delinquent or at risk loans adhering to stated timelines and regulatory requirements through a web-based application.
  • Manage and facilitate resolution of consumer loans that are not performing or are distressed.
  • Perform timely follow up on missed payment arrangements and other borrower commitments.
  • Analyze the extent of the potential loss created by the troubled loan, identify the problems and provide meaningful input into the plan for resolving the problems.
  • Review loan files for accuracy and completeness.
  • Interpret Desktop Underwriter findings so that all possible loans can be approved as expeditiously as possible to Members while assuring a proper credit decision are made.
  • Review preliminary title report and appraisal to ensure completeness and compliance.
  • Schedule loan signing appointments with Members while confirming loan document orders.
  • Consult with Members on at least a weekly basis regarding the status of their loan.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of Internet-based loan origination software.
  • Thorough knowledge of real estate principles, practices, rules, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of all residential mortgage loan products offered by RCU.

  • Assisting the SVP and the AVP Marketing & Communications in achieving all departmental goals and in the day-to-day efforts related to marketing and communications.
  • Coordinating promotional efforts, advertising, public relations, community relations efforts, and special events.
  • Working with the Senior Communications Specialist, support the credit union’s public relations efforts, which may include writing, distributing and tracking press releases to the local media and credit union industry trade publications.
  • Coordinating/facilitating the design of brochures, advertisements, media releases, branch promotional flyers and posters, teller handouts, work with other Marketing department staff to coordinate community presence information on website (content & look), departmental Intranet page and presence, on hold message programs and other marketing materials to announce and promote credit union services as needed.

  • In-depth knowledge and principles of financial accounting, GAAP, auditing and cost accounting related to credit unions or financial institutions.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements for financial institutions, with knowledge of regulatory requirements for credit unions.
  • Current knowledge of Federal and State accounting related laws, rules and regulations.

As the Accounting Manager you will:

  • Set daily, weekly, and monthly priorities to ensure the Accounting Department is providing appropriate service to Internal and External partners, while meeting all expectations and requirements of the Department.
  • Be Responsible for making sure all reconcilements are being performed in an accurate and timely basis.

We are looking for a Risk Management and Security Analyst, to identify, prevent and mitigate fraud and related threats against RCU Members, assets, and employees. Serves as the lead responder to Member, Branch and Back Office concerns, evaluating content and measuring risk, forwarding priority matters to the Assistant Vice President.

The Risk Management and Security Analyst is responsible for:

  • Respond to inquiries from various sources reporting threats of fraud or loss to RCU. Analyze and evaluate threat referring to proper party for disposition and where applicable, initiating an investigation.
  • Serve as Lead Investigator for Elder Abuse, Identity Theft, Account Takeovers and law enforcement inquiries.
  • Review accounts with fraudulent/questionable activity and follow through with appropriate action to prevent loss and mitigate damages to the credit union.
  • Develop Best Practices for dissemination to credit union staff to mitigate and prevent losses and threats identified by the AVP as having the potential for the greatest impact upon RCU and it’s Members.
  • Maintain active network with other financial institutions and law enforcement coordinating and responding to requests and facilitating the sharing of information that might uncover commonly experienced threats that could pose a risk to RCU.
  • Assist AVP/Internal Audit & Security and Law enforcement with investigations as needed including the lead in forensic accounting processes relating to Internal Theft matters assigned to the AVP.
  • Evaluate fraud warnings using where applicable Verafin, Identity Chek and Fraud Finder account screening tools and take all necessary action to identify and neutralize threats to the credit union. Escalate new account openings that aren’t resolved in a timely manner.
  • Take immediate action to suspend account activity in instances where new accounts reveal fraud or identity manipulation. Report weaknesses associated with the account opening process to impacted departments or branches.
  • Maintain a record of individuals who have committed, or attempted to commit, fraud against RCU within the Early Warning Hotfiles in order to prevent such individuals from causing RCU future losses.
  • Serve as the lead in Bank Secrecy Act responsibilities with a focus upon FINCEN requirements relating to OFAC. Process bi-monthly Verafin reporting of SDN list.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough and complete understanding of criminal investigative techniques, court processes and California and U.S. criminal codes as they relate to financial institution fraud.
  • Excellent oral and written communication including the ability to testify in court, present criminal matters in a format useful to law enforcement agencies and prosecutors
  • Proficiency with computer programs including Excel, Word, Power Point as well as common investigative tools such as Lexis Nexus and Trivin.
  • Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

We are looking for a Mortgage Loan Processor who has proven experience in planning, preparing and organizing real estate loan documentation to ensure accurate and expeditious loan closings while providing superior Member service.

The Mortgage Loan Processor will be the champion for:

  • Collect Prime Alliance and Symitar Applications and submit to Loan Officer for evaluation
  • Arrange for the opening of escrow.
  • Order and review all third-party documents required for loan approval, including real estate
  • Review preliminary title reports for accuracy and acceptability.
  • Manage the status of incoming loan documents to ensure complete and accurate files.
  • Setup loan files for submission to underwriting.
  • Schedule loan signing appointment between Member and title company/escrow.

  • Evaluate pipeline to ensure loan files are closed within set RCU standards and that production goals are met.
  • Fund first and second loans when necessary to meet funding goals.
  • Utilize pipeline management system in conjunction with loan officer to ensure high quality Member service.
  • Identify cross sell opportunities that will benefit Member.
  • Create reports that will assist loan processor and loan officer to track and monitor loan pipeline.
  • Inform Members on the status of their loans, at least on a weekly basis.
