
Our History
- Not-for-profit, Member-owned financial cooperative established in 1950 as Sonoma County Employees Credit Union (SCECU) to serve the employees of the County of Sonoma.
- In 1982, changed its name to Redwood Credit Union (RCU) to reflect the growing Membership within the Redwood Empire.

RCU is a California state-chartered credit union. All RCU Member accounts are insured up to $100,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the Federal Government.

RCU has grown to serve the North Bay / Bay Area of California. We also serve over 450 employer groups and associations.
Today, RCU has grown to nearly $1.8 billion in assets, we serve over 140,000 Members and we have fourteen branch offices in the North Bay and Bay area.
