Membership Benefits

Membership Makes the Difference

At RCU, we don’t have customers – we have Members. Why? Because once you join a credit union, you become a part owner in our financial institution. While Redwood Credit Union offers the same types of financial products and services as any large bank, our ability to provide exceptional value and personal service truly set us apart. Here are some things to consider about the benefits of credit union membership:

  • Your initial deposit entitles you to ownership of the Credit Union
  • Credit union earnings from loans and investments are returned to Members in the form of higher dividends, lower loan rates, low or no fee services, as well as additional branches, ATMs, etc.
  • Policy-making and oversight duties fall to the credit union's volunteer Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee, respectively, which are comprised of Members elected by the membership
