Switching to RCU Has Never Been Easier!

Now that you have chosen Redwood Credit Union, we want to make your transition smooth and easy. Our Transition Guide contains all you need to close your accounts elsewhere, and establish direct deposit with us, as well as any automatic transactions. You can make the switch in 3 easy steps:

1. Open an RCU Savings Account.
   Please complete and sign our Membership form  and return to us with a check for at least $5 per Member on the account* or stop by any of our convenient locations and we’ll assist you in person. Once your Membership has been established, you are eligible to open (or apply for) additional services such deposit accounts, loans, etc.
   *$75 balance required to avoid a monthly fee. Begin earning dividends on balances of $100 or more (youth accounts begin earning dividends on balances of just $10!)
2. Close Your Other Account(s).
   Print and complete the Close Account Form . Be sure to leave your old accounts active long enough to allow outstanding checks and automatic withdrawals to clear, and leave enough money in place to cover these transactions (this may take several weeks). Once you’re sure that your old accounts are inactive, you can ask your previous financial institution to send you the balance from that account. (Remember to destroy your old checks, ATM/Debit cards and deposit slips!).
3. Transition Your Automatic Transactions.
   Use the Direct Deposit Authorization  form to set up deposit of paychecks, retirement and pension checks, or Social Security checks directly to your RCU Account. Use the Change Automatic Withdrawal  form to notify anyone who makes automatic withdrawals from your account, such as mortgage companies, insurance providers, utility, phone or cable companies.

Account Help

To find the account numbers for your old account, look at the bottom of your checks for a series of numbers:

Bank routing numbers are the first nine digits of the series, beginning with a number between 01 and 12 or 21 and 32. RCU's Routing and Transit Number is:   321177586

Once you’ve completed all the necessary transition forms, provide them to your prior financial institution, employer, business, or any other institution which handles your accounts.
