Financial Literacy Academy
About the Academy:
Each year, thousands of Sonoma County youths graduate high school and begin the next phase of their life. With this, new responsibilities emerge, such as managing one’s finances, and many young adults find themselves “flying by the seat of their pants.”
However, in partnership with local Sonoma County Schools, and the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE), Redwood Credit Union is proud to offer our communities’ young adults the tools and know-how for financial success!
The 3-day Financial Literacy Academy, designed for teens entering their junior or senior year of high school, will help young adults:
- Create a financial plan
- Effectively manage credit and debt
- Simplify insurance and the car-buying process
- Examine how choice of career and lifestyle will affect their financial plan, and more!
If you live outside of Sonoma County and would like to see the Financial Literacy Academy offered in your school district, please have your teacher or school administrator contact Redwood Credit Union at academy@redwoodcu.org to discuss partnering for financial literacy!
