A debit card deducts money automatically from your checking account, which allows you to monitor your spending. Tracking your purchases is simple with RCU Online Banking. Shop From Home. 		To the right of your debit card’s signature line is a 3-digit number. This number is called the Card Verification Value (CVV). The CVV is used as an additional security measure when making purchases with your debit card (typically used during online or over the phone purchases). The ink on this number may rub off over time/use. Thankfully, this number is embossed, and can be brought back to life by running a pen/pencil over it. Redwood Credit Union is working with our vendor to resolve this issue.

Automated Teller Machine (ATM) Card

For Members who wish to access their funds in an RCU Savings Account, we offer an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card. No matter the time of the day or night, quick cash and other transactions are as close as the nearest ATM machine.

• FREE ATM transactions at non-RCU ATMs if you participate in RCU's Member reward program, Redwood Rewards. Otherwise, every Member is offered three free withdrawals each month at non-RCU ATMs ($1.00 each for more than three)

Partnering for Member Security: New Debit and ATM Card Fraud System

To help protect your information, RCU has implemented the Falcon Fraud Management System on RCU debit and ATM transactions to aid in fraud prevention.

Here’s how it works:

• Debit & ATM card transactions appearing suspicious based on previous card usage are identified
• RCU Members are contacted to verify suspicious debit/ATM transactions. Be sure we have your current contact information on file so we can  get in touch with you if necessary.
• If the transaction is or appears to be fraudulent, the card may be blocked until the Member is contacted

Remember neither RCU nor our business partners will ask you to provide/verify your credit, debit or ATM card or account numbers.

Notice for RCU Visa Debit Card Holders

RCU Visa Debit Card transactions are processed either through the Visa or the STAR ATM Network. Those processed via the Visa Network include transactions you sign for or when you provide your expiration date and/or CVV number (3 digit security code on the back of your card).

When conducting Visa Debit Card transactions without your signature or Personal Identification Number (PIN), such as paying your utility bill over the phone, please note these transactions:

• Are not covered by the Visa portion of your Cardholder Agreement
• Are reflected as an ATM transaction on your statement and different coverage applies
