Credit Union Advocacy

The Importance of Credit Union Advocacy — Let Your Voice Be Heard

Credit unions are unique in the financial services marketplace for many reasons, including we provide affordable financial services to our Members and communities every day. Because credit unions are for service—and not for profit—our business model is different from banks and other financial institution, and it’s this difference that makes credit unions so vital to our Members and communities.

Ensuring our elected officials understand why not-for-profit financial cooperatives are important to Members and our communities is crucial to our industry’s well being, preservation and success. It’s also critical that credit union supporters voice their opinion on related legislation that affects credit unions and our Members. The most effective way for lawmakers to understand credit unions is by hearing directly from you, as a credit union supporter.
