Your Credit Union: Your Trusted Partner

A Message from RCU's President & CEO Brett Martinez

Brett Martinez

If there is one thing that can be gained from today's economic challenges, it is the importance of doing business with people and companies you trust. As your not-for-profit financial cooperative we take earning - and keeping - your trust seriously, and we work hard every day to demonstrate this in the manner in which we serve you.

Last fall, I sent a letter to all 140,000 of our Members with a simple message: we are here to help. In response, the phones have been ringing, and we're pleased that we've been able to assist a substantial number of Members improve their financial situations.

We encourage you to call us or stop by your local branch and let us help you with creative solutions specific to your circumstances. RCU offers valuable advice and assistance with budgeting, debt management and financial fitness at no cost to our Members through the BALANCE Financial Fitness program. As your Credit Union's President & CEO, I want to remind you that through good economic times and bad, we're here to serve you and help you with all your financial needs..

I also want to share that despite the economy, your Credit Union remains financially strong and stable. And, as a Member of RCU, your funds are federally insured to at least $100,000 through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. Government agency. This fund, separate from the FDIC, is supported by credit unions, not tax-payer dollars, and maintains a healthy equity level. You can learn more about how your funds are insured at www.ncua.gov.

Thanks to your loyal participation, we continue to grow to serve you better. We're pleased to expand service with a new branch in Cloverdale this month. Our Annual Report will also be available this month, which details your Credit Union's performance over the past year. I invite you to join us for our Annual Membership meeting on Thursday, April 24th. RSVP Now.

One of your Credit Union's core commitments is partnering with you to safeguard your privacy and confidential information. I want to assure you that we do not now, nor have we ever, sold our Members' confidential information, and will never do so. Our Privacy Disclosure is available here, and I hope you will take a moment to review it. This document shares our commitment and practices related to protecting your confidential data, and provides helpful tips on how you can protect your own information. We also provide free seminars on security related topics such as "How to Avoid Identity Theft", and we host events such as our annual Shred-a-Thon, so Members and the community can shred their sensitive documents at no charge.

I encourage you to call upon your Credit Union for whatever your financial needs may be, and to refer family and friends who may be in need of quality financial services from a trusted source. Thank you for entrusting Redwood Credit Union with your financial needs.

It is an honor to serve you !
