Fake Jury Duty Scam

In this SCAM someone calls pretending to be a court official who threateningly says a warrant has been issued for your arrest because you didn't show up for jury duty. The caller claims to be a jury coordinator.

When you claim it's a mistake the caller while be most helpful saying they can take care of the matter, they just need your Social Security number and date of birth to check their records. Sometimes they even ask for a credit card number.

Real Courts will not ask for this information.

Court workers will NEVER call and ask for your Social Security Number or other private information. In fact, most courts follow up by postal mail and never call. Do not give out your Social Security Number, credit card numbers or any other private information about yourself via telephone. Verify that any follow-up notices come from the jury commissioner and are not scams.
