Redwood Credit Union has been made aware of attempted telephone fraud affecting some Members. Please be assured that RCU’s systems remain safe and secure and are not the cause of this incident. It appears these calls are being randomly generated by an unknown third party.
Reports indicate an automated voice caller identifies itself as RCU and claims the Member’s card has been deactivated. The caller then asks the Member to enter in their account number and other sensitive information to reactivate their card. Please do not enter any account information if you receive a call like this. If you have already received a call and entered your account information, please contact us immediately at fraud@redwoodcu.org or call our Member Service Center at (707) 545-4000.
RCU will never call you to ask for account information, and does not use automated calls to reach Members. If you ever receive an unsolicited phone call or e-mail that seems suspicious, and is allegedly from our organization, please do not provide any personal or account information, but contact us immediately. RCU is doing everything we can to counter this type of criminal activity. Your account protection is our top priority.
