Redwood Credit Union Offers Upcoming Free Document Shredding Event in Napa
"Shred-a-Thon" helps community protect confidential information
Napa, Calif. – Redwood Credit Union (RCU) is hosting a free document shredding event for the community on Saturday, July 8, 2017, from 9 a.m. to noon at the County of Napa Sullivan Lot on the corner of Coombs St. and Fourth St. The popular Shred-a-Thon event will feature free document shredding provided by Shred-It.
“Shredding old financial documents and other confidential paperwork is one of the best measures people can take to protect themselves from identity theft,” said Lindsay Jones, RCU’s Napa branch manager. “We’re happy to provide this free service for the community to help people securely dispose of their sensitive documents.”
Attendees may bring up to three banker-sized boxes (15”x12”x10”) of confidential documents for shredding, such as old financial statements, canceled checks, credit card offers, and other outdated documents that contain personal information.
Monetary donations will also be accepted at the event to benefit Puertas Abiertas Community Resource Center, an organization that works hand in hand with Latinos to inspire and achieve healthy living, self-sufficiency, and opportunities for leadership and community engagement.
