Community Requests

Redwood Credit Union is proud to be a partner and supporter to many nonprofit organizations and schools to fund programs and services that improve the quality of life for people in the counties we serve. Today, we are in extraordinary times. The Coronavirus (COVID 19) is an un-precedented global pandemic but RCU’s response to disasters in our community is not new.  We have been passionately serving the best interests of our communities for 70 years and will be doing all we can to identify and meet the most pressing needs during this crisis.

In order to be responsive to the needs of people impacted by the Coronavirus, Redwood Credit Union will be focusing all giving on immediate disaster relief. We are partnering with nonprofit organizations in the six counties we serve that are making significant impact meeting the most pressing needs in our funding priorities areas of:

  • Food and Housing Security
  • Health and Financial Wellness
  • Education and Workforce Development

Please click here to see a list of the nonprofit organizations we have supported through immediate relief grants. For now, we are suspending the review of requests for grants, sponsorships and financial literacy education in order to focus on the work we are doing providing disaster relief. As soon as we are able, we will resume our regular review of community requests. Please check back for more information.

Thank you for all that you do to make our communities a better place to live and work. We’re all in this together.

Thank you for your interest in seeking an event sponsorship from Redwood Credit Union. We receive hundreds of requests each year from throughout the North Bay counties we serve and are continually inspired by the amazing work being done to address so many important issues in our communities. Though we are not able to sponsor every request, we love learning about organizations and events in our communities and look forward to reviewing your request. We're particularly interested in learning more about new opportunities in Lake County, American Canyon/Napa, and around our San Francisco branch location on Market Street.

All event sponsorship requests must be made at least 90 days in advance of the event.

Helping people achieve their goals and dreams by achieving financial health is the core of our vision at Redwood Credit Union. If you are interested in having an RCU professional provide financial literacy education to your school or nonprofit organization’s staff or clients, please make your request at least 90 days in advance.

Thank you for your interest in a grant from Redwood Credit Union. Founded in 1950, Redwood Credit Union is a full-service financial institution providing personal and business banking to our field of membership. Additionally, we are committed to passionately serving the best interests of the communities where our Members and employees live and work. Through this call to action, we are continually inspired by the amazing work being done to address the North Bay’s most pressing issues.

At Redwood Credit Union, we focus on charitable giving to programs and services that have demonstrated significant impact in addressing one or more of the following areas of impact:

  • Housing Security
  • Food Security
  • Education and Workforce Development
  • Health
  • Financial Wellness
  • Environment

If your organization addresses one or more of these needs and serves our communities in Napa, Marin, San Francisco, Sonoma, Lake, and Mendocino Counties, we invite you to submit a Letter of Interest at any time. Please note that all requests will be reviewed in either February or May. Applicants will be contacted within 6 weeks following the February or May review period. All grant funding will be disbursed by August 31. We love learning about the great work being done in our communities.

Our typical grant amount ranges from $5,000-$10,000 but we will thoughtfully review each proposal on its merits. Please note that we do not provide grants for general operating support.

Though we are not able to grant every request, we look forward to reviewing your LOI and learning more about the work your organization is doing in our community.

Again, thank you for all you do.
