International Money Transfer: How to Do It

Remitly* is RCU’s third-party preferred partner for international money movement for personal accounts, allowing you to send funds to more than 170 countries and territories. It is a low-cost alternative to wires.

To get started, simply sign up to create your Remitly account, or log in to RCU online banking, then click "International Transfers" in the "Transfers" menu.

Ways to send money

  • Funds can be sent to bank accounts, a cash pick-up location, mobile money accounts, and in some locations, even home delivery. You have the option to expedite delivery.

Payment method and fees

  • You can use several payment sources with Remitly including debit or credit card, or by account number through ACH (automated clearing house) electronic transfer
  • The fees will be disclosed before you send the funds. Based on how you want the funds to be sent, you control the associated fees. These fees are typically lower than wire fees and may range from $3.99-$7.99. Please see Remitly’s page for full details
