How do I adjust my debit card purchase limits?
You can easily and securely increase or decrease your debit card purchase limits by logging in to your account in the RCU app or online.
Your normal debit card purchase limits are between $500 and $3,500. Purchase limits may be increased up to $5,000 on consumer debit card accounts and will remain in effect for 3 days.
Follow the steps below to adjust your limit.
Mobile
If you're using a mobile device, follow the steps below. For computers, go to the desktop steps
From your home screen, tap the checking account associated with your debit card.
Tap Card Services.
Tap Purchase Limit.
Note: You may be prompted to verify your device with a code or push notification.
Tap the Select a Limit box to choose a new limit from the menu.
Choose the new purchase limit for your card.
- Normal limit resets your debit card purchase limit to $3,500.
- Boost allows you to increase your debit card purchase limit up to $5,000 for eligible accounts, and will stay in effect for 3 days.
- Other allows you to decrease your debit card purchase limit to an amount of your choosing, and will stay in effect until you change it.
Select Save. You have successfully updated your debit purchase limit!
Desktop
If you're using a computer, follow the steps below. For mobile devices, go to the mobile steps
On the left dashboard, select the checking account associated with your debit card.
Click Card Services.
Select Purchase Limit.
Note: You may be prompted to verify your device with a code or push notification.
Select the new purchase limit for your card.
- Normal limit resets your debit card purchase limit to $3,500.
- Boost allows you to increase your debit card purchase limit up to $5,000 for eligible accounts, and will stay in effect for 3 days.
- Other allows you to decrease your debit card purchase limit to an amount of your choosing, and will stay in effect until you change it.
Click Save. You have successfully updated your ATM purchase limit!
