How do I verify an external transfer account if Instant Account Verification (IAV) failed?

Mobile

If you're using a mobile device, follow the steps below. For computers, go to the desktop steps

If Instant Account Verification fails while adding an external account, you can verify your external account manually using micro deposits.

At the bottom of the screen, select Validate transactions using micro deposits. Click here.

Select your other financial institution from the list. If not found, search for their name at the bottom of the screen.

Enter your information, including routing number and account number, and select the account type. Tap Connect.

On the next screen, verify trial deposit amounts by tapping Verify Account.

Once the trial deposits have been sent to your account (usually within 3 business days), you can go to Move Money or search for External Accounts in the search bar to see your pending external accounts. Tap on an account to verify the trial deposits.

Tap Verify Account. On the next screen, enter the trial deposit amounts.

Once this is complete, you will receive a message at the bottom of the screen that your account has been verified and added if the amounts were entered correctly.

Desktop

If you're using a computer, follow the steps below. For mobile devices, go to the mobile steps

Input the account number and confirm the account number for the other institution. Then verify the account type is correct and click Connect.

Wait for the two trial deposits and one withdrawal to appear in your external account. This process can take 3 business days to complete.

Once the trial deposits have been sent to your account (usually within 3 business days), you can click on Move Money or search for External Accounts in the search bar to see your pending external accounts. Click on an account to verify the trial deposits.

Click on Verify Account.

Enter the two trial deposit amounts in the Deposit Amount 1 and 2 fields then click Verify.

You will receive a message at the bottom of the screen your account has been verified and added if the amounts were entered correctly.
